Protein Pancake Recipe

Now that the kids are back at school, mornings can be pretty hectic. But even so, don’t skip breakfast — it’s a crucial meal that keeps you from making poor food choices later on in the day and bingeing, harming your CoolSculpting results.

The key to a great breakfast is to eat a protein-rich meal. Protein will keep you feeling full for longer, something that pure carbs just can’t do. Here’s a great recipe for breakfast pancakes. If you have any leftovers, why not pack them up and take them to work?

Banana-Hemp Pancakes

1 c rolled oats, ground to make flour (you can use a high speed blender to do this)
1 c hemp hearts
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
4 large eggs
½ c plain yogurt
2 medium ripe bananas, mashed
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp vanilla

Enough unsalted butter to lightly grease the pan

Combine all ingredients except the butter (that’s to grease the pan only). Mix until smooth.

Heat a greased pan over medium heat. Once the pan is hot, pour about 4 tbsp of batter to make one pancake. Continue to fit the pan, allowing some space between each. When bubbles form on the surface of each pancake and the edges are firm, flip over. Cook until golden underneath. Serve.
