As seen on Global TV’s The Morning Show, Joy McCarthy a Holistic Nutritionist listed out the dirty dozen. Which is a list of food that even after being washed still contain pesticides.
Which is worrying, most of us think that because we wash our foods the chemicals will wash off the skin. However studies have show that the dirty dozen absorb the chemicals into the flesh and are still present even when they are washed. For these dirty dozen you should try to choose organic, as this will be more nutrient dense in fact, we can reduce our pesticide exposure by a whopping 80% by avoiding the “Dirty Dozen” according to Joy McCarthy. The Clean 15 are the fruit and veg that even though they are exposed to pesticides they do not absorb them as much.
Dirty Dozen:
Apples, Grapes, Celery, Spinach, Sweet Bell Peppers, Hot Peppers, Peaches, Cucumber, Strawberries, Cherry Tomatoes, Nectarines, Potatoes, Summer Squash and Kale.
The Clean 15:
