The scientific blueprint for the most beautiful male and female body contour in the world has been created, courtesy of the researchers at the University of Gdansk in Poland
The researchers found that what is considered the “perfect” physique in the beauty industry depends on the height and dimensions of body parts. The vital statistics of a “super-attractive” female physique are recorded as being the following:
Body mass index 20.85
Bust girth to height 49.3%
Waist-chest ratio 1.4
Leg-to-body ratio 1.4
Calf girth to height 19.5%
Height 175cm
Thigh girth to height 29.7
Compared to the average woman, this female physique is taller and has longer, slimmer legs (particularly at the calf and thigh). The waist is a third of the circumference of their hips but 3/4 of their bust. Researchers selected supermodel Naomi Campbell as being the closest to these measurements.
For men, actor Christian Bale came closest to the “perfect” physique.
Body mass index 26.5
Waist-chest ratio 0.6
Leg-to-body ratio 1
Height 188cm
The length of the upper body should be the same as the lower body (the legs). The chest of the this physique is just under a quarter bigger than the waist and little more so than the hips.
Again, this study was conducted for the purpose of pinpointing what is considered “perfect” in the beauty industry – not in real life! It’s an interesting study, to say the least, but definitely not something most of us can aspire to. “Perfection” is something that is totally subjective!
