Winterize Your Makeup

We hope you’ve switched up your daily skincare routine to accommodate the winter weather. That basically means loading up on moisturizer, since the cold always brings dry air that can rob your skin of moisture. You should also exfoliate regularly, since your complexion may be prone to dullness at this time of year.

However, in addition to those things, you may want to also consider switching up your makeup routine. Winterizing your makeup products could mean the following:

  • Consider mixing your foundation with a bit of moisturizer. This will help keep it lighter and easier to apply, especially if your skin is dry. It helps keep flakiness away.
  • Don’t use blush with a reddish tone to it, since it could accentuate already rosy cheeks.
  • With all the extra layers you’ll need to wear plus a scarf, you can prevent smudges on your clothes by applying translucent pressed powder to set your makeup.
  • Instead of wearing lipstick, consider wearing a tinted lip balm instead. That way, your lips won’t be flaky or get chapped.

…and finally, don’t forget to apply sunscreen before you put your makeup on. Even though the skies are grey, your skin can still be damaged by UV exposure.
