Injectable fillers aren’t just for the face. They’ve been used to treat other areas of the body for years. While non-facial uses are considered off-label, the results can be impressive.
Injectable fillers can also be used to enhance:
- necks
- chests
- hands
- medial arms
- abdomen
However, for safety and effectiveness, it’s crucial that any treatments targeting the body should be performed by an experienced medical injector. According to doctors at the University of California San Diego, filler products should also be diluted to prevent the formation of lumps and bumps that may more easily appear. In addition, the depth at which the filler is injected should be carefully considered. For example, when treating the hands, doctors recommend that the injection is made at a very superficial level.
Why are fillers popular for the body? Skin tightening and other non-surgical treatments that target the body are generally reserved for aesthetic concerns of the skin. But in many cases, lack of volume and deeper contour irregularities cannot be effectively treated. Injectable fillers fill in and smooth out these problems, making the treatment better able to achieve desired results.
Note: although we do perform some filler treatments for the body, only a certain amount of filler can be safely injected at one time. Therefore, we do not recommend injecting larger amounts to make a significant increase in areas such as the breasts or buttocks. This is for your safety.
