The Ideal Protein diet ensures the optimal intake of protein, vitamins and minerals that allow the body systems to function properly and optimally. The goal is to provide the body with the appropriate amount of protein to preserve lean body mass while simultaneously reducing the intake of carbohydrates and fats. The purpose of this is to allow the body to lose body fat while maintaining muscle mass. 

There are three phases of the program to ensure weight loss and the ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle and weight loss achieved. The first phase of the protocol is the weight loss phase. In this phase, the Ideal Protein meal replacements are used for three of the four meals that a participant consumes daily. In addition, a serving of protein and vegetables is added by the participant for dinner. The duration of this phase is flexible and depends on the individual and the weight loss plan that is put in place by their fitness coach during the first consultation. 

The second phase of the Ideal Protein protocol is a two-week period that involves the introduction of a higher intake of carbohydrates and the transition of the participant into stabilization. The coach and the client will work together to create a customized weekly menu to sustain the client’s personal macronutrient needs. This involves a private one-on-one appointment for the duration of one hour that is required for this phase of the program. 

The third phase is the pre-stabilization phase and involves the client using all the education that has been taught over his/her journey and provides guidance to ensure the maintenance of better eating patterns. Periodic check-ins and resources are provided to guarantee long-lasting success without gaining the weight back. 

A common question that is asked is if exercise is allowed during the Ideal Protein protocol. It is recommended after 2 weeks on the protocol, to begin with, light exercise. Ideal Protein is acknowledged as a low-calorie plan. Therefore, moderate, and heavy cardio-based exercise has the potential to cause muscle loss, which is not the goal. 

An additional component to the protocol called Ideal Fitness is offered to the participant. Ideal Fitness provides the participant with weekly workouts that are guided by an online personal trainer that improves core strength and stability with new workouts being posted every week. It is especially important to stay hydrated and take all the Ideal Protein supplements that are recommended as well. 

The duration of every individual’s journey with Ideal Protein is all relative to the goals that are set with their personal Ideal Protein coach during the initial consultation. Every individual is unique with different motivations and goals. The speed of the program depends on multiple factors involving age, family circumstances, health status and desired outcome of the participant. Though everyone’s journey varies, the same resources are provided to everyone for ultimate success.

Buffalo Chicken Meatballs Recipe 

Phase 1-4, makes approximately 35 

Ingredients:  

  • 2 lbs Ground Chicken Breast 
  • ½ cup finely grated zucchini (approx. 1 medium, grated on the finest side of a box grater) 
  • ½ cup grated celery 
  • ½ cup crated onion 
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons sea salt 
  • 3 egg whites, beaten 
  • Olive oil cooking spray 
  • 1 cup of your favourite wing sauce! Recommendation: Frank’s Red Hot  
  • Walden Farms Blue Cheese Dressing, for dipping 
  • Diced Green Onions or chopped fresh parsley, for Garnish 

Instructions: 

Begin with preheating the oven to 350°. Then, in a large bowl, combine your chicken with the vegetables, spices, beaten egg whites and two teaspoons of your chosen wing sauce. Using your hands, gently mix all the ingredients together. Do not squeeze or over mix the ingredients.  

Using olive oil cooking spray, spray a baking sheet thoroughly and then proceed to scoop the meat mixture into 2 tablespoon-sized portions. Roll each portion of the mixture between the palms of your hands into the formation of a smooth ball. Place each ball on the baking sheet, and once the baking sheet is full, place in the oven on the center rack to cook for 15 minutes. 

When the meatballs are finished cooking, remove them from the oven. In a mid-large sized bowl, poor wing sauce and transfer the meatballs to the bowl and toss gently but thoroughly to coat. Let the meatballs marinate in the sauce while you raise the oven temperature to 450°.  

Drain the excess moisture and wipe the grease off from the baking sheet. Apply a fresh coat of olive oil spray to the baking sheet. When the oven has reached 450°, give the meatballs another toss in the bowl, and then transfer with sauce to the baking sheet. Bake on the top rack of the oven for an additional 12-15 minutes. 

Serve with green onions or chopped fresh parsley. Serve with Walden Farms blue cheese dressing for dipping and enjoy these delicious and healthy meatballs!

What to expect during a treatment of CoolSculpting®

  1. Preparation: A clear gel pad will be applied to the treatment area to create a barrier between your skin and the cooling panel. 
  1. Beginning of the Treatment: When the treatment begins, you will experience a slight sucking sensation from the applicator that is attached to your body. Other sensations include tugging, pulling, intense cold, tingling, stinging, mild pinching, cramping, and some slight aching at the treatment location. The treatment area will quickly become numb and these sensations will subside 
  1. Relax! As the treatment begins, you are able to relax and allow the CoolSculpting® to do all the work. You are able to answer emails, chat on the phone, or simply relax.  
  1. When the Treatment is complete: A brief massage on the treated area will be performed. This massage breaks up the treated fat cells and helps with the overall fat reduction.  
  1. Resume your daily activities! There is little to no downtime following a CoolSculpting® procedure, and you are able to resume any work or activities. Depending on the area of the treatment, you may need multiple sessions.

Phases of Ideal protein

Phase One

After your CoolSculpting® treatment, a scheduled follow-up assessment will review your results and decide if there are any additional sessions that are needed. It is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, however there are no specific or special diets that are required post-treatment.  

For CoolSculpting®, the results are not immediate but are very long-lasting. As soon as 3 weeks following a treatment, you will see approximately a 25% reduction of fat bulges, however the greatest results occur over the following 2-4 months post-treatment. The results of total fat loss can be more or less, depending on the body types, the individual patient, the amount of fat that is treated, and the area of the body that is being treated. 

If you are looking for more than a 20-30% fat reduction, you may require multiple CoolSculpting® treatments, depending on the size of the layer of fat to be removed and what your particular goals are. In combination with maintaining your weight post-treatment with a normal diet and exercise, your results should be long-term.

1. Flanks
