BOTOX For Plastic Surgeons

Did you know that plastic surgeons get BOTOX, too?

A survey conducted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons found that of the 62% of plastic surgeons who received a nonsurgical cosmetic treatment, the most commonly performed procedure administered to this group was botulinum toxin A, the most popular of these products being BOTOX. Like statistics for the general public, more female plastic surgeons received treatments than men – to be exact,  84.9% of the total were female.

In terms of surgical cosmetic procedures, there were about one third who had at least one type of treatment done.

The survey was conducted in 2009 to find out the perceptions and attitudes of minimally invasive and invasive cosmetic procedures performed on plastic surgeons themselves. It is believed to be the first survey of its kind. We thought it was interesting to see that plastic surgeons undergo the same treatments they also administer, providing validation that aesthetic medicine like BOTOX is safe and effective enough for themselves to undergo, and that they also care how they look!
