Most people with oily skin suffer more breakouts than those who have another skin type. Pores may also be more prominent and a sheen, particularly in the T-zone and cheeks, makes for a persistent problem that exists even after a good face washing.
There is a good thing if you’ve got oily skin, though. All of that excessive natural oil production helps keep the skin more supple and soft, delaying the onset of wrinkles. Take note if you’ve got oily skin: your skin will probably look younger for a longer time than your friends!
The key to do-it-yourself oil control is cleansing and moisturizing using the right products. Experts agree that a foam gel cleanser is ideal, since the excess oil is easily absorbed and whisked away. For moisturizing, we recommend you don’t skip it. Even though the role of moisturizers is to add and help the skin retain moisture – something that you may think is unnecessary for you – they can also help normalize oil levels and production. If you wash your face and don’t moisturize, you’ll just be encouraging your skin to produce oil, especially when the skin’s been stripped of sebum with cleansing. Just make sure to use an oil-free moisturizer, and you’ll be fine!
