Injectables: Men vs Women

When our doctors and nurses administer injections of Botox or Juvéderm to erase the signs of aging, they don’t just take into consideration your personal goals and expectations of the procedure – they also take into consideration whether you’re a female or male.

While the goal is to always look better and refreshed, with adaptations on what this specifically means for each patient, gender plays a big part in how much product should be administered and where. Generally, females are concerned about all the lines on their face, including across the forehead, around the eyes, on their cheeks and around their mouth. Women want to smooth all away, leaving barely a trace. On the other hand, men tend to pick out the deeper lines and creases, and only across the forehead and around the eyes (specifically crow’s feet). Men don’t want to erase them entirely; they want to just lessen their appearance. We guess this is because wrinkles add a bit of character and charm to a man’s face (think George Clooney, Russell Crowe, and Hugh Jackman).
